Configuration Files

Problem:

Increasing the value of one or more multipliers to large values can cause a detriment to server performance.

Solution:

Decrease the values of the multipliers to values closer to the default.

Problem:

Decreasing the auto-save period to a low value (lower than the default of 15 minutes) can negatively impact performance.

Solution:

Increase the auto-save value closer to the default and manually save your server using the admin command / RCon command admincheat SaveWorld

Problem:

Increasing the Dino Count Multiplier will reduce server performance, quite significantly if you have increased it dramatically. There are many more dinos present on the server, which causes the CPU to work much harder in order to manage/process them.

Solution:

Reduce the Dino Count Multiplier. This reduces the CPU work load as there are fewer dinos to manage/process.

Mods

Problem:

Some mods can cause a significant reduction in server performance, this is due to mods not being coded as well as the base game code.

Solution:

Remove mods individually in order to identify which specific mods are causing the reduction in server performance, re-add the mods that aren't hampering server performance, and permanently exclude/remove the ones that are hampering server performance.
